  • Notes
    • In the 1841 census, Joseph was living with his parents John and Mary and by 1851 he was living with his brother Henry, in Finmere on a farm. They have a 22 year old housekeeper

In the 1861 census, Joseph had married and was well-off enough to have a servant on his farm of 300 acres which employed 13 boys and 5 men.

By the 1871 census, Joseph was still a farmer employing 4 boys and ? men living with his wife and family in Mixbury. By the 1881 census it seems he had fallen on hard times and was possibly an inmate in the Bucks County Lunatic Asylum in Stone near Aylesbury where a Joseph was described as a farmer.
